Description
Tierra Luna Cellars is proud to present Nova Stella, a wine inspired by astronaut Jose M. Hernandez. After having flown on STS-128 Space Shuttle Mission to the International Space Station, Jose has returned to his roots and now farms a small vineyard in Northern California near Lodi. Seeing the constellations from space inspired the naming scheme of his wines.
Nova Stella Utilizes Premium Sauvignon grapes that are blended with Jose’s very own grapes from his vineyard.
Produced in 100% stainless steel, this Sauvignon Blanc is crisp and smooth. It features a pear blossom and melon bouquet and a lovely clean citrus finish on the palate. This unique flavor can only be achieved by combining the grapes grown in two distinct regions within the Northern California area.
We invite you to taste our deliciously balanced and fresh tasting wine made especially for you.

Dear Jose. I am a Baby Boomer who just watched your movie with my family at a recommendation from my Women’s Mastermind group. For those who are in college, going to college and out of college including me, we salute you for your tenacity and courage and the love you showed to your family. I just watched the movie and it brought so many tears. I loved that your teacher was such an important part of your life and when your parents brought her to NASA I broke down sobbing. You are an a very special person and all the support you received by your family to fulfill a dream is inspirational. Man I am still tearing up writing you this.

I haven’t bought your wines yet but will add them to my next order. As Latinos I feel it is important to support one another. You and your family have come a long way. A good and caring teacher can have such an impact on a child’s life and Ms. Young has proven that. Your perseverance is inspirational to all of us who have dreams that we may not believe are achievable, specially being rejected time and time and again. It shows that the support of family is essential for success. I know you know you couldn’t have done it without them/her. Kuddos to your wife for putting her dreams aside for a bit to support yours. I am Italian American and have made wine for years. I know what it is like to have family together doing this. Making wine from fresh grapes is wonderful and waiting for it to mature. It was very nice to see that Jose hernandez had his dreams come true. A wise man once said, the two most important days in your life are the day you were born and imthe day you find out why. I look forward to trying your wine.

Wow! Surprised to hear from an extraordinary human being with an extraordinary wife and a wonderful family. That I was able to achieve such a dream after overcoming so much tribulation and challenges. Hearing about you, Jose, and your experience makes me reflect and rethink that in no way should we EVER give up.
