Description
Though we are small and just starting out, Tierra Luna Cellars, Inc. is committed to being engaged with our community and will give profits from the sale of these Nova Stella bottles autographed by astronaut Jose Hernandez to the following organizations:
Space for Humanity
Space for Humanity is organizing the planet’s first Sponsored Citizen Astronaut Mission, where leaders, from any walk of life, can apply for an opportunity to go to space and experience the Overview Effect: the cognitive shift in awareness that occurs when a human being looks down on the Earth from space.
Each year, a new crew will be selected from a diverse group of leaders from around the globe. Upon their return, each citizen astronaut has a commitment to leveraging that experience for the collective good.
Through our citizen spaceflight program, leadership training, and collaborative efforts to educate the public, we are setting the stage to create the world we want, both here on Earth and throughout the cosmos.
We believe our future in space will be determined by who we resolve to be on Earth, today.
LULAC Stockton Council #2060
LULAC Stockton Council #2060 is a non-profit, all volunteer, organization who has been in the Stockton, San Joaquin County, community since late 1970’s. LULAC fundraising stays in our community to fund programs like our annual Scholarship Program, Youth Conference, and Christmas Food Basket program.
Reaching for the Stars Foundation
The mission of the José M. Hernández Reaching for the Stars Foundation is to inspire youth to find passion in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), establish a family commitment to education and to develop a support network through community engagement. We achieve this through our annual Science Blast outreach program, Summer STEM Academy in partnership with the University of the Pacific, and our scholarship program.
MAES
The mission of MAES is to promote, cultivate, and honor excellence in education and leadership among engineers and scientists. The MAES pipeline makes a positive impact in the community through its pre-college, college, and professional programs. These programs provide critical STEM exposure to our youth and offer our members with valuable professional and leadership training that prepares them to make a positive impact in our Nation’s STEM workforce. We also provide our members with hands-on leadership experience, by providing them exciting leadership opportunities at the local and national level.

As an Mexican American woman whose parents worked the fields when they immigrated to the US, I am so proud of Mr. Jose Hernandez and his family. I admire him for not giving up and achieving his dreams. Mr. Hernandez, sir you have inspired and continue to inspire many families around the world and I am so glad you were able to tell your story. I am extremely happy to have received my signed bottle and being able contribute to your charity.

I just finished watching the movie, A million Miles Away. Once the tears cleared from my eyes, I searched for your fathers winery, Here I am. What an inspiration! No man is an island to himself. Without love and support from others, the journey to one’s dreams becomes more challenging. What an amazing wife you have. You are blessed to have found such love.
Thank you for allowing your story to be told.
When you find the way
others will find you.
Passing by on the road
they will be drawn to your door.
The way that cannot be heard
will be echoed in your voice.
The way that cannot be seen
Will be reflected in your eyes.

Dear family,
After reading the book, I just have seen the movie. Splendid! As former Manager Space and Education at the visitors center of ESA in the Netherlands, I have seen what it’s to become and to be an astronaut. I recognize the importance of a close family and the support from the homefront. Together you have done a magnificient job! It’s great you have archived your goals. Onze, I hope to meet you. Best regards, Hans van der Lande

I just finished watching A Million Miles Away and with all the turmoil in this country I believe that the film should be mandatory viewing in schools. It portrayed a level of commitment and perseverance that should be a foundation for our youth. I’m buying an autographed bottle to put away for my 5 month old granddaughter Hazel and with it will be the story to relate to her when she gets older. Thank you to the entire Hernandez family for giving us the incentive to better ourselves.

I just watched the movie A million miles away. What an inspirational movie of your life. I worked the cotton fields for a short time in West Texas. I pray that your winery is a Hugh success. I can’t wait for my order of wine to come in.

What a blessing your family is. I too, just finished A Million Miles Away. I felt compelled to look up the winery. I have 28 grandchildren. I will definitely encourage them to watch this movie. Praying that they find their way in this world. Do what they need to do to get where they need to go. Be happy, loved and know anything they dream they can do.
When you’re running the race always look forward.
May God continue blessing you and yours.

Jose, I feel honored to be Mexican and from Zamora Michoacan after watching your movie, “A Million Miles Away.” Also an immigrant and a graduate of a University with a master’s degree in Sociology. It is an Honor to know where you are, and what you’ve accomplished in the U.S. I hope to try your wines soon and I hope you make them Mexican style, like those from the Guadalupe Valley! 🙂
Where is your cellar address?

I just saw the movie for the second time, this time with my Mexican wife from Veracruz (where Salma Hayek comes from). Now I can’t wait to share the wine with her.
Truly amazing.
